On 28th May 2025 students of B.Pharm second year from Samarpan College of Pharmacy undertook an educational visit to the CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow. This visit was organized as part of their academic curriculum to provide practical exposure and insight into ongoing scientific research and developments in the field of medicinal plants and natural product-based drug discovery.
The students were warmly welcomed by the NBRI officials and were given an introductory session highlighting the institute's legacy, research domains, and significant contributions to plant-based sciences under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR).
During the visit, the students explored different divisions and laboratories, including:
Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry Laboratories
Plant Biotechnology and Molecular Biology Sections
Herbal Garden and Conservatories showcasing rare and medicinal plant species
They had the opportunity to interact with research scientists and gained valuable knowledge.
The visit proved to be highly enriching, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. It inspired students to consider research-oriented careers in the fields of natural product chemistry, pharmacognosy, and botanical sciences.
